The team rushed to help, but by the time they arrived, the mother had disappeared and the puppies had already been taken to a local shelter.<br/><br/>Thankfully, the puppies were safely brought into WEACTs care - but the team couldnt leave the mother behind. After continued efforts, she was eventually rescued as well. At the same spot where the mother dog was rescued, we also rescued a stray puppy with an injured leg from the road. This puppy was Dareum.<br/><br/>Hoping his cold and painful life on the streets would turn into a warm and happy one, he was given the name Dareum, which means Different in Korean. Overall, Dareum has a naturally charming presence - being around him just feels peaceful. He will quietly come up to you, gently wagging his tail to show affection. Watching him walk on his short legs, sometimes showing off a little to get attention, is guaranteed to make you smile.<br/><br/>Curious and eager to learn, Dareum is ready for a family who will show him all the good, beautiful things the world has to offer. Dareum feels most comfortable in calm, familiar environments. If theres another dog in the home, a relaxed and gentle companion would be a good match. Nevertheless, Dareum is quite independent and may be happiest as an only dog, enjoying quiet walks and peaceful time with his family. He is looking for a family who will love him with soft voices, kind eyes, and gentle affection - someone who understands that quiet love is his favorite kind.<br/><br/>Good with women: yes, Dareum is good with women<br/>Good with men: yes, Dareum is good with men<br/>Good with kids: yes, older children recommended as his interactions with kids has been limited<br/>Good with other dogs: yes<br/>Good with cats: unknown, Dareum hasnt met a cat before<br/>House trained: in progress and doing well - uses both pee pads & outdoors Crate trained: yes, he may bark when he wants to come out<br/>Energy level: medium<br/>Can be handled/touched: yes, he responds well to a gentle approach, but he may be a little shy at first. Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys sitting on a lap. Therefore, it is important to approach him slowly at first and give him space. He is fine with grooming, although its not his favorite.<br/>Barker: no<br/>Flight Risk: no, but it is always recommended to double leash at the beginning to be safe<br/>Food aggressive: no<br/>Current food: kibble<br/>Walks on leash: yes, Dareum is currently practicing leash walks. So far, he has been doing great walking alongside the person and becoming more confident being leashed.<br/>Leash reactive to people or dogs: no<br/>Rides well in cars: yes<br/>Destructive: no<br/>Needs a home with a yard: preferred Needs a home with another dog: not necessarily, but if there is a resident dog, a calm companion would suit him well.<br/>Can live in an apartment: yes
