She has a warm sable coat, expressive dark eyes, and a happy, eager‑to‑connect energy that makes her feel like sunshine in dog form. Dani takes to “her person” quickly — she bonds fast, loves deeply, and follows affection with joyful enthusiasm. She’s confident, social, and wonderfully easy to have around the home, settling in like she’s always belonged there.

Dani comes from a hoarding situation, but she's emerged with a remarkably resilient, affectionate temperament. She lived in large outdoor kennels with multiple dogs, which explains why she’s so comfortable with canine friends of all sizes and why she reads canine social cues beautifully. She’s playful, friendly, and thrives in the company of other dogs. (Maybe cats too, but we don't know.)

Inside the home, Dani is a star. Easy, affectionate, well behaved, and gentle, she loves kids and would make a wonderful match for a family looking for a friendly, steady, kid‑compatible companion. She's described as sweet, friendly, and eager to please, with good manners and a perfect crate‑training score. She rides well in the car, has a nice energy level, and is the kind of dog who adapts quickly to new routines.

Dani's ready to bond quickly, fit in easily, and bring warmth and happiness wherever she goes.

Note: Caregivers of dogs from hoarding situations should be prepared for quirks as well as fear of normal household things/life, people, and excursions. Adopters of dogs like these need to be looking to adopt to help the dog, not so much to get a pet for themselves with specific expectations of the pet. While dogs from hoarding situations can make great pets, they need a home and lifestyle that is gentle, accommodating and will be forgiving as their needs and personalities unfold. Here is a great resource: https://www.washingtonpashelter.org/understanding-and-caring-for-rescued-hoarded-dogs/

An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:

Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
