Meet Dale an eight year old possible lab mix at the perfect medium size of about forty pounds!

Dale only knew one life with his long time owner and in a matter of days that world was completely turned upside down. Dale found himself at a rural county shelter when his owner passed away and he had nowhere to go. This poor guy did not adapt to shelter life very well and was extremely shy when he first meet the staff and strangers. Our partner shelters do their best but we all know a shelter is no place for senior pups!

Once Dale began to realize he was as able to trust people he began to completely open up! He shows his submissive side to those he trusts by rolling over for belly rubs. Dale is a super low key guy who would love a low key home of his own.

Once in rescue Dale was able to receive the vet care that he so desperately needed. It was evident from the beginning that Dale had a severe ear infection that was causing a significant amount of pain.

Dale does great with all his training and the dogs he has meet so far. Dale seems to be potty trained and crate trained. The crate however is not his favorite but he does settle. Dale has meet several dogs in his foster home of all ages and sizes and does well with them all.

Dale is a very sweet guy who just wants to be around his person. He is initially fearful of people so he would need an adopter that picks up on the cues when he is ready for attention and affection. It will only take a couple days for Dale to warm up to people and when he does he will be your best friend. Dale would need an all adult home as this fear sometimes manifests into warning signs that often children can not pick up on. He would also need a fenced yard as a leash and collar can rub against his ears which are still somewhat painful.
