Meet Cuddlebug

Cuddlebug is ready to share her story! ?

You were my everything. For 9 years you were my one and only. We played together, we went on trips together, we walked together, and we cuddled together. We were inseparable. The best of friends. I only ever knew you.

Parting from you was the hardest thing that I had ever had to do. One minute we were together, and the next we had to say goodbye. You wanted to take me and I wanted to go with you, but life pulled us apart. You had to go to a nursing home, and I had to learn how to be me without you. There is another family out there who needs me. It doesn't make the hurt go away. Or the confusion. I still have my bed from you. I sleep on it every single night, and wherever it is...I plop down on it. It reminds me of you. I hope you are doing well. I am starting to settle into my foster family and am ready to start the search for my new family. It is so scary starting over...but I have a new family out there searching for me. I have a feeling they need me as much as I need them. I am sending you kisses and hope you know that I am safe. I miss you. Goodbye, my former owner...best friend.

Thanks for listening guys, I just needed to get that off my chest. My name is Cuddlebug and I am a 9-year-old, 40lb female Basset Hound.
____________________________________________________________________

Ever since I ended up homeless I have been dreaming of a forever family. One that will love me for the rest of my life! I know it is a big decision so I had my foster family fill out this questionnaire to make sure you are 100% sure about me!

-How does your foster act when meeting new people?
Calm and friendly. She tends to go right up to people and say hello. She is well behaved though. She doesn't jump, just patiently awaits lovings.

-Has your foster been to any public settings?
She has only been to the vet but did very well. She is eager to hop in the car and go with you, so I think she would be happy as long as her person is with her.

-Is your foster leash trained?
Yes.

-Does your foster like going on walks? She has only been on the leash a few times(when we were going to the vet and visiting family) but she has done great the few times she is on one. Occasionally she may pull, but usually, it is when she thought you were going a certain way and then stopped.

-Would your foster enjoy hiking?
No. She wouldn't mind short walks, but she is too old to handle long hikes.

-Does your foster do on car rides?
She does great! She will hop right in. She really enjoys soft things, so would love to have a bed or comfy blanket in the back seat for her.

-Does your foster jump on people?
No.

-Describe your fosters energy level?
Cuddlebug is a very chill and laid back dog.

-Is your foster a big chewer?
No. She has not attempted to chew on anything with us.

-Does your foster like to play fetch?
No.

-Does your foster like to play in the water?
Unknown.

-Does your foster play with Toys?
She seems curious at times but has not played with any yet.

-Does your foster have any food aggression?
No. She is a very slow eater though.

-Does your foster resource guard?
No.

-Do you think your foster would be okay with free-roam of the house even if you are away?
Yes.

-Is your foster potty trained?
Yes, if she is let out enough. When there is a lot of activity/change and she isn't on a set routine she may have an accident.

-Is your foster kennel trained?
No.

-Where does your foster sleep at night?
In our bedroom in her dog bed.

-Where does your foster stay when no one is home?
Free-Roams the house.

-Is your foster good with other dogs?
Yes.

-How does your foster act around other dogs?
Indifferent.

-Does your foster need another dog in their new home?
No.

-Is your foster good with cats?
Yes.

-Is your foster good with kids?
Unknown. She is not being fostered around any, but since she is older I would say older kids would be best. She probably wouldn't enjoy a toddler that is constantly grabbing her or a really noisy household. She just wants someone to climb on the bed and cuddle with her. Or someone she can follow around.

-Would your foster dog do good in an apartment?
Yes.

-Is your foster a big barker?
No. The only time I have heard her bark is when I leave, or when she really wants something. Like that yummy-looking food, I am eating.

-What would be your fosters ideal home?

Cuddlebug is a great girl. She is so calm and so chill. She goes EVERYWHERE you go. She does not want to be left behind. She is super excited whenever it is time to go somewhere, and will happily jump right up in the car. She is indifferent to my dogs, and would really fit into just about any home. Overall, I think her ideal home would be a quieter home with someone who is home most of the time.

-Is there anything else you would like to mention about your foster dog?

Cuddlebug steals the hearts of everyone she meets. She is such a good and sweet girl. Her big ole ears crack me up, especially when she puts them up and tilts her head. This girl is always up for an adventure and is ready to go the minute she sees you getting ready. She can be vocal at times when it comes to being left alone. Say outside longer than she deems acceptable or when you leave to work. She does eventually settle down after a couple minutes though. She does great with my cats but may give chase if they run. She LOVES getting to come on the bed with you and just curling up by your legs. She is older so she really appreciates soft dog beds and blankets. She will actually keep walking around until she finds a soft spot near you. Cuddlebug's name stands true. She has to always be near you and really enjoys cuddles and lovings. She has such an amazing temperament and is going to make someone an amazing dog!

Phew! That took longer than I thought! Hopefully, all your questions about me were answered though! Before you apply to adopt me I have a few last things that I would like to discuss!

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

-Where are you being fostered?
I am being fostered in Tulsa, OK.

-Would I need to pick you up?
Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home!

-Can I adopt you even if I don't live in Oklahoma?
Yes, I am okay moving to a new state.

-How much is your adoption fee?
My adoption fee is $150.

That includes my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. I will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention. It will also include my dental.
