Cubby's Story

Typical Texas story… a car drives into a remote field in Von Ormy, Texas, dumps 3 terrified dogs, and then drives away. Thankfully, someone noticed and contacted 4 Little Paws Rescue, who then contacted a trapper, and after 2 days of patience and rotisserie chicken, all 3 were finally trapped and safe. Now living in a foster home, everyone is vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped, healthy, happy, and ready to find much better futures! Meet Cassie, Cubby, and Clover...

Hi there, I’m Cubby. A handsome black Shih Tzu/Pug mix, about 1 year old, weighing 19 pounds, and I have a curly tail. I am a shy boy, always sweet, but it may take me a few days to feel safe with someone new. I am still unsure of how to ask for love, and still nervous about being picked up, but once my foster mom puts me in her arms, I’m in heaven. Otherwise, I am happy and playful in my foster home, running zoomies, obsessed with doggy toys, friendly and very playful with other dogs, and would definitely benefit from having a doggy friend in my new forever home to help me build some confidence. I am housebroken and well-behaved. I don't mind a ride in the car, and I am doing okay on a leash with a harness. Overall, I am a very sweet and charming little guy who will love you to the moon and back, and be playful and happy once I feel safe with you. But please be aware, I am still scared of loud noises and can run like the wind and jump over a baby gate to escape somewhere new. While outdoors in your yard, I will need to be on a leash and supervised until I am familiar with you and my new home. I have come such a long way from a horrible past, but now I know love and happiness, and will surely become a cherished member of your family! Our Mission
Our purpose is to save small breed dogs in overpopulated states such as California, North Carolina, South Carolina,Texas and Florida where there are many more homeless dogs in shelters than willing adopters. We will transport, foster, provide medical care, perform vaccinations and spay/neuter, and finally re-home these dogs...
