Cubbie

Introducing Cubbie

Meet Cubbie, an adorable little Golden Retriever and Shepherd mix born July 27, 2026, who looks a whole lot like a tiny bear cub, which is exactly how she got her name!

Cubbie is one of three puppies we recently welcomed from Lancaster. They came from a property we’ve helped before, where several feral adult dogs have found sanctuary. The dogs aren’t technically the property owner’s, and because the adults are fearful of people and extremely difficult to catch, preventing future litters can be challenging. Whenever puppies are born, we try to step in and help as many as we can.

This time, we were able to take three babies, two siblings from one litter and one puppy from another. Their foster immediately said they looked like little bears, so naturally, a bear themed naming crew was born!

Cubbie is only about two months old and is already showing what a sweet, happy little girl she is. She’s good with other dogs, good with kids, and at this young age would likely do well with cats with a proper introduction. She’s currently working on all the normal puppy basics, including potty training, and will need a family ready for all the fun, training, patience and love that comes with raising a puppy.

Cubbie may have had a pretty uncertain beginning, but this little bear cub has her whole life ahead of her. Now she just needs a family to grow up with.
