Cotton was born in a Pennsylvania puppy mill and used for breeding from an early age. Despite being a productive breeder, she was passing her genetic eye condition down to her puppies so Finding Shelter volunteers were able to secure her freedom through educating the puppy mill operator. Cotton was filthy, shy, shut down and petrified when she was rescued, but she is becoming comfortable in her foster room and learning to enjoy the simple things in life, including toys. Once she learned that she could roam on the grass in the fenced yard and would be treated with love and kindness, she responded with joy and every day trusts her humans more every day. Cotton has cataracts and is taking daily drops from high eye pressure. She is expected to lose her vision completely at some point and could potentially lose her eyes if she develops severe glaucoma. But Cotton adjusts even though she bumps into things sometimes. She loves to play with other dogs and needs a resident dog companion. She is becoming a happy girl and can’t wait to find a loving and patient home where she can continue to flourish.
