Copperhead's Story
Written: 4/14/2026

Meet Copperhead!

Copperhead fittingly received her name because she was the sole survivor from her litter after they were bitten by a copperhead snake. She is 4 months old, born December 2025 and about 15 lbs. She loves all other dogs and kids, is affectionate and loves to be babied and snuggled! She is gentle and doesn't jump on people or beg for people food, easy to train and is eager to please! In just her few days in foster, she is already crate trained and will sometimes go into her crate on her own throughout the day. She is playful, and would love to have another older confident dog in the home! She would thrive best in a routine so she knows what to expect as she can be timid about transitions such as leaving the house and getting in the car. Being in a home is all brand new for her, so confidence about these things will come with time! She is working through potty training and learning to not use her little teeth for play!

She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of age-appropriate core vaccinations, microchip, and required spay when age-appropriate. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. To apply to adopt Copperhead, visit www.beaglesandbentleys.org/adopt.

Spay/Neuter Disclosure:
Spay/Neuter will be scheduled when age-appropriate and is covered in the adoption fee. We require adopters to be within a reasonable distance of Richmond or Virginia Beach in order to complete spay/neuter with our approved clinics.

Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.

Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives, and cats must be altered and up to date on rabies) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
