Cooper's Story

Cooper … a happy, snuggly hound with a heart as big as his floppy ears.
Cooper is a gentle, middle-aged Coonhound mix (about 65 lbs, 4–6 years old) who thrives in a calm, predictable home. He’s affectionate, well-mannered, and loves nothing more than curling up beside his people after a good walk. He even has an adorable little “dance” at dinnertime that will steal your heart. ~
Cooper is fully house, crate trained~ settles comfortably into a routine. He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night, relaxes well when his humans are away. He comes when called, enjoys leisurely walks to stretch his legs & sniffs the world, then is content to settle in for quiet companionship…..He does best as the only dog in the home & would be happiest with adults or older children who are easy for him to predict. Cooper is not familiar with young children….Because Cooper can clear a 4-foot fence, he needs either a securely fenced yard (5 feet or higher) or a family member who is regularly available to take him on walks for exercise, enrichment.
…Cooper has a managed kidney condition that is well controlled with medication, a kidney-friendly diet, regular potty breaks (about every 3 hours). He handles this routine beautifully & continues to enjoy life fully. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion with a calm spirit & a whole lot of love to give, Cooper may be the one waiting for you.
Apply through Love Mutts Rescue, Inc. at www.lovemuttsrescue.org
(We offer a 2-week foster period before adoption is finalized.)

Love Mutts Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Adoption Methods: FOSTER TO ADOPT: · This method of adoption gives you a 2 week trial period with a pet to see if they are the right fit. This does not apply to puppies and kittens. During that time, the pet remains the property of the rescue. After the two week time period, the pet will be considered adopted and the rescue will no longer be responsible for vetting. Finalizing is a matter of filling out a few paperwork items with you to register your pet’s microchip and such. · The full adoption fee is due before taking the pet home. If it does not work out, we refund the fee less $50. This $50 can be applied towards another pet or is tax deductible as a donation. FULL ADOPTION: · With this method there is no trial period. The pet will officially become yours the day you take them home. If the adoption doesn’t work out you are to return the pet to us versus trying to re-home them. There is no refund if you decide to return the pet.
