Cooper's Story

Cooper, the goofy, cuddly hound has bonded w/only 1 in adopting family. (Had been kids dog-loving them) Please read & share as we must find a foster immediately. No children (only due to “person guarding”) until we work w/him?Cooper is a gentle, middle-aged Coonhound mix with a heart as big as his floppy ears. He’s an affectionate guy who loves curling up next to his people for snuggles & pets. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a warm, soulful presence, Cooper may be your perfect match.
>Cooper has great manners — he’s fully house & crate trained. He sleeps comfortably in his crate at night & is used to relaxing in it when his humans leave. He does wonderfully with a predictable routine. He would do best in a home with adults or older children who understand how to give him space when he wants it. He’s gentle & sweet, & appreciates a respectful, calm environment.
Cooper also loves his walks & enjoys getting out to stretch his legs, sniff around, explore. He does best when he has the chance to burn a little energy- then he’s ready to settle in for cuddles.
He is currently on a kidney-friendly diet, which helps keep him feeling his best. He handles his routine well & is an easy companion to care for with a bit of structure. If you’re looking for a loving, snuggly dog who enjoys both adventure & cozy time, Cooper might be your perfect fit. apply www.lovemuttsrescue.org ?we offer the 2 week foster time before adoption is final.

>>>>>>>>interesting original bio....

Cooper has a “bunch” of delicious personality traits to make him a wonderful, loving companion. This big boy loves to be on or next to your lap! He gets along with every dog, the cat in both of his foster homes. House, Crate, leash trained, H has adjusted to indoor life...when excited, he doesn’t understand “sit” but he is very careful when he does his dance on his hind feet! He needs a foster who will take time to teach him to sit! He keeps us entertained, settles on a dog bed when all the dogs are inside. He loves our 6’ fence yard, probably would do fine at 5’ - 6' fence...being fostered w/ 5 dogs & 1 cat! (4’ fence made it easy to go visiting, but this Hound sticks close, comes home, we don’t want him roaming anymore). Cooper is incredibly gentle & teachable. Plays hard w/other dogs, so need to watch due to his size. Comes to his name. approx. 53 lbs & 4–6 years old. apply www.lovemuttsrescue.org 2 week foster to adopt

Background. Cooper was found exhausted, wandering in the road, July 3rd. Found previous owners. Sadly, they didn’t want him back. Rescued in skin-and-bones condition, they had kept him outside 24/7, escaping their invisible fence. They surrendered him to us in hopes he’d get the indoor, affectionate home he truly deserves. His fosters now love him & he is their lap dog! He’s been wonderful with our grandkids .We had hoped to keep him,
If you or someone you know would be a good fit for this sweet boy ... and can offer him a permanent or foster home and care he needs...please apply to foster/adopt. Love Mutts Rescue We’re praying the right family is out there for him.

Love Mutts Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Adoption Methods: FOSTER TO ADOPT: · This method of adoption gives you a 2 week trial period with a pet to see if they are the right fit. This does not apply to puppies and kittens. During that time, the pet remains the property of the rescue. After the two week time period, the pet will be considered adopted and the rescue will no longer be responsible for vetting. Finalizing is a matter of filling out a few paperwork items with you to register your pet’s microchip and such. · The full adoption fee is due before taking the pet home. If it does not work out, we refund the fee less $50. This $50 can be applied towards another pet or is tax deductible as a donation. FULL ADOPTION: · With this method there is no trial period. The pet will officially become yours the day you take them home. If the adoption doesn’t work out you are to return the pet to us versus trying to re-home them. There is no refund if you decide to return the pet.
