Cooper's Story

Meet Cooper!

Cooper is an estimated 8-month-old, 60lbs Vizsla and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, with a classically spirited Hound personality. He is the most energetic, loving puppy you will meet and will thrive in a home where he is afforded patience as he adapts to life as part of a family, since he has been kept outdoors his whole life.

Cooper had a rough start- he was found extremely malnourished and seemingly days from passing. He was skittish, flea-ridden, and apprehensive towards others. Today, he is 51 lbs and is up to date on all vaccinations. His personality has changed night and day to an energetic, goof ball. Although he has come very far, he is still a little “rough around the edges” and would benefit from structure and training in his forever home. It will be very rewarding for him to find a way to channel his exuberance.

Cooper loves doing anything active: running, going on walks, and digging in the yard. He especially loves being around his people. He has a collection of toys, yet seems to enjoy an old plastic water jug the most.

When going on walks, Cooper has learned to stay beside his person. He still needs training; however, he can sit on command, lay down, give paw, and wait/stay for his food. He knows his name and responds to it when called too! He barks around people, but with treats he becomes friendly!

Cooper needs a home with someone who can give him attention and take him to burn energy (walks, etc.). His personality is exactly what you might imagine for a young Hound pup with too much energy and exuberance, so it’s very important that he goes to a home where he is understood. He truly has so much potential to be the best friend one could ask for!

Cooper is being fostered in Austin, TX and is adoptable in Texas and Northeastern States.

*All breed listings are educated guesses and not guaranteed*
