Cookie* A213409's Story

VIP: Cookie is a sweet dog who is about 5 years of age. She is good with other dogs as well as children. Cookie is a smart cookie too! She knows the commands sit, stay, lie down, fetch. come and wait. Cookie can be an escape artist at times. She is housetrained and knows how to use a dog door too! She is heartworm positive but her treatment has been sponsored for her new family once she is adopted. Cookie went on a group dog walk to a local park recently. She was very calm and patient while getting harnessed and geared up for the walk. She was a little hesitant to get in the car on the outbound trip but jumped into the car on the return trip. Cookie rode wonderfully in the back seat enjoying the sights and all the smells! She walked well in the group with very little pulling on the leash. Her faster pace resembled a trot or prance! Interestingly, when the walker stopped, she would be very obedient and sit beside her walker. She wouldn't move until her walker moved and then would immediately look up at her walker for approval. Cookie really enjoyed her walk and was very polite when meeting strangers. She got along well with all dogs in group and was very excited to be on the walk.
Cookie is very petite and was given up by her owner. Cookie really wants a good home!

Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done.
Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment or application is needed. When asking about an animal, please provide the identification number that starts with A.
For more information, please call the shelter at 972.769.4360.
