A SWEET & ENERGETIC GUY: Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 62 lbs.

Hi, my name is Colter! I was adopted last year, but things didn’t work out with my family. There was a divorce, and I may have been a bit protective of my mom. Not totally sure, but I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for a family that will be active with me, so we’ll have lots of fun together. When I was previously with Mostly Mutts, I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot, so when I returned to MM, I got to back into that program to brush up on some skills! Now I’m ready to find my forever home!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: While I do have a dominant male personality with other dogs, I have enjoyed playing with both male and female dogs in the prison/foster training program, though I may do a bit of mounting and some dogs won’t like that. In my former home, I did get to go to doggie daycare and liked that, so if you have a dog, let’s meet and see if we can be friends. My trainer will help with our meeting. / Cats unknown. / Best no kids right now as I was nippy with them in my former home, though we don’t have details. I’ll be tested with kids soon.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a very sweet, very playful, and very friendly guy. The volunteers are impressed with how focused I am (great for training). I’m active – ready for lots of exercise and fun with my family. Since coming back to Mostly Mutts I do ‘sing’ a lot when left alone. This may be a shelter behavior as my former family did not mention it, but perhaps best no apartment as I don’t want to bother the neighbors. / My energy level is 6-8 so I will need regular exercise.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop-it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my easy walk harness as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I get very happy when I get to spend time with my trainer, so I can be a little bouncy and use my paws like a happy boxer/paws in the air. / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program, though I do make noise in my crate. / My potty habits were very good in my former home as well as at the shelter and in the prison/foster training program schedules.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with tennis balls, going for hikes, splashing around in any body of water available and exploring! I also love treats, so my training should be fun – and yummy! I joyfully announce the arrival of the volunteers, as I am so happy to play and spend time with them. Toys are great, so have plenty of those in my new home, please. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on my vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.
