Collette American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Wallis, TX

Collette is available for local adoption or adoption and transport to another state. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home.

Collette was a young puppy running the streets in a small coastal community. A nice lady rescued her and cared for her until we had room to take her into our rescue. Collette is an American Staffordshire terrier - probably a mix - going on two years of age and weighing around 60 pounds. She grew up around cats, children, and other dogs - so she is good with all of them. Collette is a very sweet girl. She is crate trained and good in the house. But we have seen her use the pee pads on occasion. She is not a fence jumper - and would not even climb over a 3-foot puppy pen. But she did figure out how to go under it. Collette loves playing with toys and other dogs. She is normally at the bottom of the puppy pile and we have to make sure that the other dogs are not being too rough with her. Collette is a typical wiggly butt pibble. She is sweet and submissive and just wants to be loved. But doesn't realize her size, so she can be a bit of a bruiser. She only needs additional obedience training. Collette will sit for treats, walks well on a leash, and rides well in a vehicle. She also obeys fairly well and comes when called. Collette must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and would like a large fenced yard to run and play.

Collette is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Collette has a $450.00 out-of-state adoption fee that includes ground transport to the northeast, pacific northwest, or Canada. She is being fostered in Texas and we do not have the resources to send her north until after she is adopted.
