Meet Colby and Brother

These darling Shih Tzu boys are neutered and up to date on their shots. Colby (6 years old and white) and Brother (5 years old and brown) were loved and coddled when their guardian was alive, which helped mold them into super happy, spunky little guys. Colby weighs 15 pounds and Brother weighs 17 pounds. They get super excited when they see each other. We would like to adopt them out as a couple, as they clearly have a strong emotional bond. They travel well in the car. They LOVE to be on your lap; they like to be held and they like to sit on the arm of the couch. They are so sweet together and have matured just enough to have lost all annoying puppy-type mischievousness. They will make someone somewhere the happiest of pet guardians. They have suffered enough trauma and must go TOGETHER to their FOREVER HOME. Please call the number below
To get more information on a Pups On Parole dog, please contact a representative of the Lassen Humane Society at 530 251-7247 or e-mail ilovepopdogs@yahoo.com. The Pups On Parole Program started in June of 2007 to help give homeless dogs a second chance at finding an adoptive family. All dogs in the program spent time in our local county shelter, surrendered by their owners or picked up as strays and waiting for their owners to redeem them or to be adopted by new families. The selected dogs are brought current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered if necessary, micro chipped, and heart worm tested. They then are taken to the California Correctional Center Firehouse where they are assigned to a trainer/ inmate fire fighter. These trainers groom and work with each dog and give them the extra time and attention they need to become wonderful family companions. Most graduates are house trained and know basic obedience commands. As of December 2018, 535 dogs have been adopted through this program. To meet any of the Pups On Parole dogs, arrangements must be made in advance.
