Cody's Story

Meet Cody, a 10-year-old, 8 lb. yorkie who narrowly escaped an uncertain future. He was being given away for free in Waterbury before a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in to get him to safety.

Another rescue had initially agreed to take him, but when they learned he was a senior, they backed out. We believe every dog deserves a chance, regardless of age, so Cody became part of the Happily Furever After Rescue family.

Cody is everything you could want in a companion. He's gentle, affectionate, and greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail. He absolutely adores people of all ages and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and even cats. His sweet, easygoing personality makes him the kind of dog who settles into your heart almost instantly.

Despite not always receiving the care he deserved, Cody has remained incredibly trusting and full of love. He enjoys spending time with his people, soaking up attention, and simply being wherever you are. Whether it's relaxing on the couch, taking a leisurely stroll, or cuddling with you in bed, Cody is happiest when he's surrounded by those he loves.

Cody does have a cataract in his right eye, which leaves him blind on that side, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. He continues to enjoy life with the same happy, loving spirit that makes everyone who meets him fall in love. If you're looking for a loyal best friend with a big heart, Cody is ready to spend his golden years with you.

His adoption fee is $450 and Cody is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He also just got full dental work done. If you're 60 years or older, you qualify for our Senior-to-Senior program and can adopt Cody for just $350.
