Meet Cody <br/>If you’re looking for a professional cuddler, toy enthusiast, neighborhood watch captain, and full-time snuggle buddy, Cody is your guy!<br/><br/>Cody is an adorable Chiweenie with a HUGE personality and an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves his people and will happily spend the evening cuddled up beside you, binge-watching his favorite show before snuggling next to you all night. He loves toys, is extremely food motivated, and thinks roughhousing and playing with his doggy friends is pretty much the best thing ever!<br/><br/>Cody has completed three weeks of board-and-train, and he is doing wonderfully. He walks nicely on a leash, is house trained, fully vaccinated, and neutered. He loves playing with dogs around his size, although he isn't a fan of larger dogs. He would also do best in a cat-free home.<br/><br/>Like most chiweenies, Cody is all about his family! Strangers? No thanks! He is hopelessly devoted to HIS family and isn't interested in making friends with anyone else. Wanna feel special? Wait until Cody decides your his people - he is unabashedly loyal! <br/><br/>Cody does have a special need that his forever family will need to understand. Before coming into rescue, Cody lived in an abusive home where he was severely punished during house training and was confined to a crate for extended periods. Because of that experience, Cody has developed claustrophobia and cannot be crated. His new family will need to be committed to never using a crate with him.<br/><br/>His history has also affected how he feels about potty time. Cody doesn't like to go potty in front of his family. Thankfully, he has figured out a wonderful solution all on his own: a doggy door! Cody happily uses a doggy door and takes himself outside when he needs to go, which means he doesn't have accidents in the house. For this reason, a home with a secure doggy door and safely fenced yard is a must for Cody.<br/><br/>And if you’re wondering what else comes with your Cody adoption package... Neighborhood Watch! Cody takes his job very seriously and will be happy to keep you fully apprised of every squirrel, delivery driver, neighbor, leaf, and suspicious activity happening outside.<br/><br/>Cody has been through more than any dog should have to endure, but despite his past, he is still an incredibly loving, playful, affectionate little guy. He isn't looking for perfection — just a patient family who understands his history, respects his boundaries, and will give him the safety and freedom he needs to feel secure.<br/><br/>In return, Cody promises endless cuddles, hilarious antics, toy time, doggy playdates, neighborhood updates, and a lifetime of loyal companionship. <br/><br/>Cody's perfect home:<br/> A home with a secure doggy door and fenced yard<br/><br/> A crate-free home<br/><br/> Dog-friendly, preferably with dogs around his size<br/><br/> No large dogs<br/><br/> A cat-free home<br/><br/> A patient family who understands his past<br/><br/> Someone who appreciates a VERY food-motivated little guy<br/><br/> Someone who doesn't mind sharing the couch during binge-watching sessions<br/><br/>Cody has already worked hard to learn and grow.
