Cocoa Maltese & Yorkshire Terrier Mix Los Alamitos, CA

Cocoa is around 10 yrs old and just under 6 lbs, we believe she is a chihuahua/yorkie but may have some other terrier or Maltese in there as well. She is tiny and precious and would be a great purse pup. Cocoa was left by her owner at the county shelter, sadly this pup had not had great care for a bit. Her skin and coat was pretty bad and after her dental she has only one tooth left. Her fur is filling in now and with care she’s looking and feeling so much better. She is super sweet, always wagging her tail and giving kisses. She is used to being held and likes to be carried. She is calm and tolerant during baths and blow dries! She is energetic and perky and has settled into her foster home well. She gets along with the other small dogs and cats too. Coco is not much of a barker. She is house trained as long as she is taken outside regularly. She can hold it up to 6 hours during the day without an accident. She sleeps in a crate at night without a peep. Once she healed from her dental surgery she now eats very well and has a great appetite! She eats softened, mashed kibble and does well with that. Coco is fully recovered from a bad case of kennel cough and a tooth abscess, has gained weight and is ready for her new forever family.
A bonus: she rarely barks but when she does it sounds like singing!
She also likes beds and pillows, so she will be as spoiled as you would like. She does seem to have some hearing loss too.... but that comes with age.
Most of our dogs are not available to an out of the area adoption because of difficulty to follow up. If you do not live within a 2 hr drive of Orange County, please email us before applying to see if the dog you are interested is may be a candidate for long distance adoption. We only make consider long distance adoptions for dogs who have been in our rescue for 6 plus months with no local candidates.

We do not have a shelter so individual appointments must be made to meet the pet you are interested in. Our pets are fostered/boarded all over LA and Orange County.
This pet is altered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a brief temperament evaluation to help us determine what type of a home he/she would thrive in. Please note that we put lots of time and effort to make sure our pets are ready to be someone's perfect pet before they go home.... and to make sure that we will have the best possible match for this pet we do require an : application, interview, adoption fee and in some case a home check.
