Clifford Hound Mix Clayton, NC

Even though he is a wonderful dog, Clifford is a long-timer with Red Barn Rescue. He has been posted for a long time with the caveat that he needed to be the only dog in the home. Turns out, he can do just fine with the right doggie housemate! We are hoping that this update to his requirements will open a door for more interested in this awesome dog who deserves a great home.

Clifford is fostered with a female dog, similar in size. He’s not a playmate, but he’s proven to be totally trusting of his foster sister, even if she gets overexcited and accidentally slams into him. He is not territorial about food, toys, or dog beds. He even waits for her to pee and drink water first. Not jealous about attention. Total gentleman! ?? He wants no drama and is not reactive to other dogs he sees when he’s out walking either. We think he'll make a great housemate to the right female dog. (He cannot go to a home with cats.)

Clifford is such an easy dog in so many ways. He enjoys his walks, but is happy to nap on a soft bed when he’s in the house. He doesn’t require much by way of toys or chews. He’s quiet in his crate, (except for some light snoring?). We believe he is probably between 4-5 years old and just under 50 pounds. His markings make him look older, but his teeth are in beautiful shape and he has plenty of spring in his step.
