Claire's Story

Please meet Claire, a scruffy little terrier/chihuahua mix with dark, curious eyes and an underbite so cute it should be illegal! She can be a little shy at first with new people and dogs, but once she feels safe, she opens right up and once she loves you, she really loves you. Claire is a true Velcro dog who wants nothing more than to be near her favorite humans at all times.

Indoors, she keeps herself (and everyone around her) thoroughly entertained: her signature move is throwing her squeaky toys into the air and then pouncing on them like she's shocked they fell. She also has a serious bully stick habit and could spend hours parked at the screened front door, watching the neighborhood go about its business like it's her personal nature documentary.

Outside, Claire is a delight on leash and will trot happily by your side with excellent manners (sniff breaks included, non-negotiable). Give her some space to run and she transforms into a full-on zoomie machine, especially if there's another dog to chase around. For that reason, she may thrive best in a home with a playful canine sibling to burn energy with.

When the day winds down, Claire is ready to clock out and cuddle. Couch, lap, your side of the bed, she's not picky, she just wants to be close. She also settles well in her crate when needed, is reliably house trained, and is happy to sleep on her own bed at night (though she wouldn't say no to an upgrade).
Sweet, silly, devoted, and just the right amount of quirky, Claire's foster family is already a little jealous of whoever gets to call her their own!
