Churro II 26-025's Story

Meet Churro - a 65-pound Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as sweet as his name! Churro is a happy-go-lucky boy who always seems to be smiling and spreading positive vibes wherever he goes. With his constantly wagging tail and adventurous spirit, he's always ready for fun.
Churro loves following interesting scents, chasing toys, and going on walks to explore the world around him. He's an incredibly social dog who absolutely thrives around both people and other dogs. In fact, Churro would love a home with another playful canine companion to be his built-in best friend.
While Churro isn't the best fit for a home with cats due to his enthusiastic energy level, he more than makes up for it with his many wonderful qualities. He's food motivated, eager to learn, and enjoys picking up new skills and tricks. As an added bonus, Churro is bilingual and understands both English and Spanish!
If you're looking for a friendly, adventurous, and affectionate companion who's always ready to brighten your day, Churro may be your perfect match.

Churro is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $300.

Churro is in the Paws in Prison program, where he receives basic obedience training. He will graduate from Paws in Prison on 7/10/2026. The dogs in this program are provided basic level training under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. So, there will be an adjustment period as they adjust to their new family schedule.

For this reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal. This journal documents his arrival from the shelter, daily training progress, and interactions with the trainers.

If you are interested in meeting Churro or learning more about our adoption process, please submit an adoption application. Thank you!

Patricia and Barry Solomon
