Chino's Story

Breed: Miniature Schnauzer
Gender: male
Date of Birth: 02/22/2021
Approximate Age: 4 years
Approximate Weight: 18.5 pounds
Color: salt and pepper
Ear Type: natural
Tail Type: docked
Other distinctive markings or characteristics: none

Chino's champion is Deb. If you meet the requirements for his permanent home and have questions that are not answered on our website after you have submitted an adoption application, please contact her at schnauzerescue@yahoo.com.

Meet Chino! Chino is a 4-year-old, Schnauzer/Australian Shepherd mix (according to his microchip information). He looks big in the pictures because he’s leggy and his furnishings haven’t grown in, but he is only 18.5 lbs. He was found as a stray, wandering the streets and was, understandably, scared out of his mind in the shelter. Chino is the absolutely sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. He just wants to give love and go for walks – plain and simple, that’s it.

We are looking for a home that LOVES to take walks and wants to laugh at the antics of a sweet, goofy pup. He does try to scoot out the door, so no small children but he would enjoy older kids. He is very frightened of being crated – so much so, that he broke his canine in the shelter from chewing on the metal cage. He had a dental today to remove that tooth (the nerve was exposed) and clean up his other teeth. But he’s a total joy in the house – no accidents and just waits patiently for his foster Mom to return home. He would do well with another dog or without one.

Prior to placement, all dogs are spayed/neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, dewormed, and microchipped. Dogs also receive a dental cleaning, if needed, and are bathed/groomed before adoption.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must first complete our adoption application, which is available on our website at www.njsrn.org (click on the Adopt tab). Please be sure to include the dog’s name in the questions/comments section of the application. Answers to questions about NJSRN, our process for matching dogs to their permanent homes, and our guidelines for adoption donations can also be found on our website. Sorry, no shipping, but NJSRN can help with local area transport throughout most of the northeast. If you have questions that are not answered on our website after you have submitted an adoption application, please contact the NJSRN champion listed above.

NJSRN covers NJ, PA, NY, CT, MD, DE, and surrounding states, and we will help any Miniature Schnauzer in need, regardless of age or health status. We are all volunteers and NJSRN always needs foster homes, transport assistance, and donations. If you would like to contribute to our rescue program, you can easily make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal at www.njsrn.org.
