Chewbacca's Story
Chewbacca has had a tough beginning! We pulled him from OCAS in January when he was placed on "the list" for being bitey. He had been in and out of the shelter 3 times- returned by families who don't understand that a dog needs to decompress.

Chewy is a sensitive little guy (13lb!) who just needs a bit of time to feel safe. He can be timid and skittish at first, but once he’s had the chance to decompress in a calm home, his personality really starts to shine. Before long, you’ll see his playful side—tossing his bed around, enjoying his toys, and getting excited for his favorite thing: treats.

He’s crate trained and feels most comfortable having his own space, where he happily sleeps and eats. Chewy does take time to build trust, so he’ll need a patient adopter who understands that love with him is earned, not rushed. He may not take treats right away and isn’t a fan of being picked up, but with consistency, he becomes a happy, engaging companion.

Chewy can be a bit particular about his food, so he does best being fed separately and having his bowl picked up once he’s finished.

With the right person—someone patient, understanding, and willing to let him come out of his shell—Chewy will blossom into a fun, loyal companion who brings both love and personality into your home. 🐾 He would do best in a calm environment, not a lot of visitors. We would also recommend Chewy not be placed in a home with small children.

We know the right home is out there for him! If you think you might be the right for for this sweet boy- please fill out an application at betterlifepets.com/adoption-application

Chewy is neutered, utd on shots and microchipped.
He is being fostered in Kissimmee. His adoption fee is $300.
