He weighs 60 pounds (as of 9/22/26) and hails from Tennessee where he was surrendered by his owners. Why? We have no idea! This handsome boy deserves all the loving and hopes you'll be the one to give it!<br/><br/>Chevy's also got a personality that’s as fun as his name! He might be a little shy at first with strangers, but he's sure to impress them with his dance moves. He's the perfect combination of playful, smart, and ready for adventure. He’s a quick learner who picks up commands in no time. Of course, like any good hound, Chevy believes his nose knows best. Give him a scent to follow and he’s ready to investigate. He might even help you find that missing sock!<br/><br/>Chevy is friendly, playful, and gets along well with other dogs. He can be energetic when it’s time for fun, but he also knows how to settle down and relax once he gets comfortable in his surroundings. An active household where he can enjoy walks, explore, and sniff to his heart's content would be right up his alley. Chevy is very interested in chickens, cats, & pigs, but maybe with enough training, he can learn to leave them alone? Time will only tell. He hasn't met kids yet, so hopefully he can get an introduction.<br/><br/>He does well on a leash and can easily learn more skills since he's so smart. We're not sure if he's been crated aside from the vet, but he has been kenneled in not very large enclosures. We think he was house-trained because his original owner had him as a house dog. His foster has kept him outside for a year so they're not sure. The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
