Meet CHARLIE
SAY HELLO TO CHARLIE!
Charlie is a very bright, very handsome 8 month old Shih Tzu / Poodle mix puppy.
Weighing in at 10 pounds, Charlie was an owner surrender. Charlie took advantage of his adorable looks with his owner, so much so that he was running the household.
Charlie was surrendered only a month after his owners purchased him from a Florida breeder where they had previously purchased a dog. His owners felt Charlie did not fit well in their household and he had some difficulty adjusting.
He showed some aggressive tendencies that were concerning to them but very well may have only been part of his needed adjustment phase. He has shown some minor food aggression while here in rescue, but none of the jealousy and behavior that was described by his former owner.
He seems to love everyone, even kids and plays very well with the other dogs. He could go to a home without other dogs if someone is home most of the time for him as he’s very playful or a home with other dogs as long as his behavior continues to be monitored and dealt with as necessary.
His new family will be one that is an experienced adopter as he is not a good dog for a first time dog owner or someone who considers himself to be a pushover or overly spoils their dogs. His family will be adults or adults with kids over the age of 12 who have experience, gentle hands and respect for small dogs like Charlie.
Charlie is learning the house training and is improving every day. Please note that like all rescues, he will need gentle guidance and patience as he learns his new family's routine.
He is leash trained, rides politely in the car and greets all he meets with a smile and a tail wag.
Charlie is a longer coated breed that will require regular brushing as well as professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks.
Charlie's adoption fee is $ 500.00
This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership.
Charlie will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that he has been eating.
His adoption fee also allows us the ability to put funds towards the next little one in need of rescue!
