CHARLIE
English Cocker Spaniel Medium Adult Male   I don’t know why it is taking me so long to find someone to love me? I try to be a very good boy and I do all my tricks for everyone! I enjoy taking my person on interesting walks, and I like to see what is going in my neighbourhood because I really am a very smart kid! I am “SUPER SPANIEL”! so I know I really am a big dog inside this 28 pound body. My food is MINE and so I do defend it around other dogs. I agree that is not so nice, but hey, nobody’s perfect, and that is MY ONLY FLAW! If you come to meet me, I know I will steal your heart away and you can have mine too! A few extra words from my rescuers - "Charlie is a handsome 4 year old English Cocker Spaniel. He is well trained and knows the responses to heel, sit, down, leave it, stay, come and crate. He has excellent focus and does very well with training. Charlie often gets comments about what a friendly little dog he is. His only real issue revolves around food and his guarding of it with regards to other dogs so an adult home where he is the only dog would suit Charlie best.
Charlie is a pretty independent guy....he seems to have little interest in other dogs... ….. other than to keep them away from his food. Typical of the spaniel breed, his ears, eyes and skin will need to be cared for and maintained which requires regular grooming. Charlie requires a low dose of a very inexpensive thyroid medication (approx $8/month) for the rest of his life.
