Charko's Story

This little scissor stealing boy is Charko. He thinks it's funny to steal things and make me chase him around. Don't worry, nobody was harmed while running with scissors. I was working out in the dog area and after doing a self pat-down to try and find my scissors, I realize I have some dogs that are thieves. HA!

Charko is a 3-year-old neutered male that we believe to be a Basque Shepherd/ Australian Shepherd mix. Charko was abused for the first 7 months of his life before he ended up at a shelter. We are his second foster home in 2 1/2 years (His DOB is 9/17/22). He's rehabbed now and is a phenomenal boy who is ready to have a home to call his own. He's a little shy when meeting new people but does best if you just sit there and let him approach you. Within minutes he is your best friend with two paws in your lap. He's great with other dogs. He loves to chase a ball and soak up all the attention you are willing to give him. We think he’s housebroken as he keeps a clean pen and holds it until you let him out. He will make an excellent farm hand or Pacific Northwest outdoor exploring hiking and camping partner!
Charko's ideal home would be with a single female who doesn't want to take him to the Home Depot and everywhere else with her, but prefers a more calm, quieter life with not a lot of guests around.

Please read our adoption policies BEFORE inquiring to adopt a pet. If you wish to meet a pet shown here, please fill out and application posted on our main Petfinder Page or copy and paste this link. https://forms.gle/dGz75whm2hFT2fej7

You may also submit a letter of introduction via email to angieoneill88@yahoo.com describing the home you can provide. Please include such things as if you own or rent and what type of fencing you have. If no fencing include acreage. Also describe other pets and children in the home . PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM folder for replies as they end up there sometimes.
Keep in mind, we are two women with full time jobs, we volunteer to run this Rescue and foster these dogs in our homes. We have families and farms of our own we take care of as well. We will give you all the time we can but, ask for your patience and attention to detail to make the application process flow smoothly and as quickly as possible.
