Hi there... I'm Casper 🐾🤍<br/><br/>I'm a 2-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog / Staffordshire Terrier mix, and I weigh in at a whopping 80 pounds of calm, gentle love. Big guy? Yep. Big softie? Even more so. 💕<br/><br/>Before I came to the shelter, I was abandoned and left locked in an apartment with another dog and no one to care for us. Even after all that, I still have so much love to give. I didn't let my past harden my heart--I just want a family to call my own. 🥺<br/><br/>I'm great with other dogs and love to play, and while I haven't been tested with small children yet, everyone here thinks I'd do just fine because of my sweet and gentle nature. I walk nicely on a leash (though I might pull a little when I get excited--there's just so much to be happy about! 😄), and I load into the car easily and really enjoy going for rides. 🚗<br/><br/>I'm fully house trained, know how to use a doggie door, and already know commands like "sit" and "no." I'm a smart boy who loves to please, especially if belly rubs and ear scratches are involved... those are my favorite. 🥰 I'm just as happy going on a long trail walk as I am curling up on the couch for a cozy movie night.<br/><br/>One important thing to know about me is that I am heartworm positive. Heartworms are spread through mosquito bites--not from dog to dog--and the good news is I've already received treatment! ❤️ I'll just need to be retested next year, and with a little luck, I'll be completely in the clear. In the meantime, I'm doing great and feeling good.<br/><br/>All I really want is a second chance--a safe, loving home where I can finally relax, be loved, and give all that love right back.
