Meet Carson

My name is Carson and I am a 2-year-old neutered black male lab mix. I came to Brookline from the SPCA. Living on the streets was a hard life. I was very underweight and my fur was in bad shape. Brookline came to my rescue and placed me in a foster home that could get me back to health. My ears and skin had fungus infections, which have been treated and look good. I still need to gain more weight but I have been putting it on steadily. I was 73 lbs. when I came and look to be about 80 lbs. now. I am up to date on all my shots and have been micro chipped.
Since coming into foster care, I have learned to retrieve a tennis ball. My foster mom makes me sit and wait for the ok before I can chase the ball which I have been doing very well with given my young age. Retrieving is my favorite thing to do other than eating. I do like to have a ball to play with in the house, but it has to be a durable one so I can have hours of chewing pleasure. I can also say that I am housebroken, crate trained, ride well in the car and affectionate.
My ideal family would have to have time to teach me even more fun behaviors since I am still a puppy at heart. I would also like to continue retrieving my tennis ball so that is a must have. I am good with large mature dogs that aren’t going to try to take my toys and boss me around. Young kids running around, yelling and playing ball bring out too much of my inner puppy. This is not the best thing when you out weigh these guys and think you should play with them like they are another dog. At the end of the day I do love a good dog bed to lay on and hanging with the gang. Check out my blog at the link http://brooklinelabrescue.org/blog/carson-2-yr-old-neutered-black-male/
