Shelter life has him feeling a little unsure right now, so he may need some time to warm up, but once he does, he’s a total softie who thinks he belongs right in your lap. Buddy is a true sniffing expert and loves taking his time discovering all the interesting secrets the world has to offer. He has an independent streak and is looking for a hound-experienced home that will let him move at his own pace and appreciate him just the way he is. Buddy is an excellent communicator and isn’t afraid to share his thoughts with a classic hound AWOO! He has the potential to live with respectful kids and may do well with other dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with plenty of personality and hound charm, Buddy might just be your perfect match.

Cherryland Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Current Hours of Operation Sunday & Monday: CLOSED Tuesday: APPOINTMENT ONLY Open to Public: Wednesday - Friday: 11am – 5pm Saturday: 11am – 4pm Our website is best to view our most updated information on available pets. www.cherrylandhumane.org Important info to help you on your journey: - Applications must be submitted prior to adoption and will take 24-48 hours to process and approve. - We do not perform same day adoptions. - CHS accepts multiple applications on each animal, we are not first come first serve. Our team of adoption counselors will help matchmake every individual pet and family to ensure the best fit for all. - Must be 21 to adopt with a valid driver's license or state ID card. - We ask all members of the household to meet the new pet, some pets require multiple visits to build necessary relationships. - To align with our mission of solving the homeless pet crisis, all household pets must be spayed and neutered, up to date on necessary vaccinations, and live in the same household as the adopter. If not currently established with a veterinarian, a vet deposit will be required. - Cats and dogs adopted from CHS are indoor only. - Every pet is an individual, and many have individual needs such as : post adoption training (included with adoption), multiple meet and greets to feel comfortable, medical needs, etc. Our adoption counselors will communicate these needs with all interested families. CHS will not begin adoption process with an individual when: - A person is reasonably believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. - Landlord or residence does not allow pets, or the living situation does not accommodate consistency for the pet (e.g. student housing, four unrelated adults living together, ect.) - Applications may be denied for any reason, including but not limited to an individual failing to comply with conditions of past adoption. Cat Adoption Fee: $150 Dog Adoption Fee: $250 Includes: Spay/Neuter Distemper Vaccination Rabies Vaccination Lepto Vaccination Bordetella Vaccination Basic flea/tick/deworming treatment Heartworm test FeLV/FIV/HW test Microchip Post adoption support & training
