Meet Buddy
Buddy is in foster care and not at the shelter, so please call in advance for more information about his great guy and how to meet him.
Who does not love a black Labrador Retriever?
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a 1-2 year old lab mix and is as sweet as can be.
He is currently in foster care with 4 other dogs and enjoys long hikes and sticking close to his foster mom. He likes to play ball and will entertain himself with any toy available. Buddy is just a typical happy young lab, with lots of energy and love to give.
Sadly, Buddy is losing his eyesight, he as been diagnosed with a condition called Microphthamia and will need a person who is ready to help him navigate the world through his other senses.
He is current on vaccinations and neutered and is excited to meet his new family.
If you would like to meet this super special guy, give us call at 970 626 2273 or email animalcare@adoptmountainpets.org.
We often adopt same day as the first visit an interview but it is not guaranteed. Some dogs will take multiple visits and adopters are approved based on the best fit for the particular animal being considered. We do not hold pets during the process.
Most dogs who come from the shelter will not be house trained.
Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills. Please be prepared to provide that training and dedication that will be needed.
We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.
It is important everyone in the home is introduced to the new pet.
We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.
All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.
Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.
If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
