Bubby D12682's Story
MEET OLAF (OLLIE)

Olaf, or Ollie for short, is a big, sweet, gentle puppy who loves people. His name fits him perfectly. Just like Olaf from Frozen, he's big-hearted, a little goofy, endlessly friendly, and always up for a hug. He LOVES belly rubs, cuddles, and leaning into you for attention. He has no aggression at all and is happiest when he's right next to his people.

He's smart and eager to please. In just a few days with his foster family, he's learned to go to the door when he needs to go out, responds to "no" and "sit," and stops right away when redirected. He doesn't need anyone to be hard on him. Patience, structure, and positive reinforcement go a long way with him.

He loves to play, get the zoomies, and play outside. It's been so heartwarming to watch him play with toys and learn how to have fun. He also seems to really want doggy friends.

Good to know:

- He's still learning what it's like to live in a house, and some sounds startle him. A secure leash or harness is a must, since Pyrenees can be escape artists.

- He's still a puppy in a big body. He's gentle, but very strong and doesn't know his own strength yet.

- He gets anxious when left alone and is working on crate training and building confidence. He gets major FOMO.

- I would say he's stage one potty trained. He's had no recent accidents in the house but be alert and mindful of his indicators that he needs to go out. (Goes towards the doors, comes up to people and barks once or twice, paces by the door)

- He is a puppy, so he will try and chew things but he stops immediately if you give him a firm no or redirect him. He's a good listener. Again, this dog is a total sweetheart.

- Still needs work with getting him to come to you and he pulls on his leash, but the harness is really helpful. (He had a neck injury when I picked him up, NO PRONG COLLARS can be used on him)

His ideal home:

- Someone with the time or experience to work on crate training with a patient, positive approach (he's made progress!)

- Another dog to play with (slow intros of course, but he REALLY wants to play with other dogs)

- A fenced yard, ideally a privacy fence

- Be cautious with little kids or small dogs, because of his size and strength

- Cats are unknown

Olaf "Ollie" is such a good soul. Honestly, an amazing dog with a big heart and a derpy disposition. He's like an overgrown golden retriever.
