3/2/26 – Brownie. Brownie had a big day today – she went to the vet. She’s an amazing little girl with so much love to give.<br/><br/>She weighs 40.8 lbs and is severely underweight, and her temperature was 103. Her fecal test was negative and her heartworm test was negative, so Dr. Berrios said the reason she’s underweight is pretty straightforward: she just hasn’t been getting enough food.<br/><br/>Today she went to her foster home, and we’ll keep sharing updates on her progress. Brownie – DOB 12/13/24. Her condition is not good at all and she looks completely different from the Doberman that was described and shown in the photos. According to the owner (after we asked), she didn’t eat today, and yesterday she had diarrhea. We told him this clearly didn’t just happen over a couple of days. This is starvation, plain and simple.<br/><br/>We’re taking her to the vet on Monday for a full evaluation. Today she’s already eaten twice, was very hungry, and honestly just seemed relieved and happy to have food.
