Meet Booth

Booth is ready to share his story with you! ♥

Howdy everyone! I hope you are having a swell day so far! My name is Booth and I am a 16 week old, 22lb male Great Pyrenees mix. I am not sure what I am mixed with, it could be some Anatolian shepherd or even some Aussie. Or maybe neither. Whatever my mix it gave me one heck of a personality and some good looks! ;)

I may be a puppy but that doesn't mean that my life has been all that dandy so far. Actually, prior to coming into rescue, it sucked. I believe I did have a family growing up. And then I didn't. Suddenly I was in a kennel, with dogs barking all around me, and no people to cuddle up to. I had no one that could tell me that everything would be okay, especially with the shelter being so full. I was not sure what would come of me. There was so much that I still wanted from life, and all of it could be tied back to having a family of my very own. I imagined all the adventures and fun we would have together. All the toys they would buy me, and a collar that would fit me just right with a fancy tag. All of that was should have been mine, and instead, I was on the urgent list.

Things sometimes have a way of working out, though. I ended up being picked up by a rescue and before I knew it I was welcomed to their fluffy butt family. I found myself in a wonderful foster family and life is absolutely amazing now! I have a name, a collar, toys, a couch, and everything I have ever wanted. Well, I am missing one thing. My forever family. I was kind of hoping that you were them and that you are going to bring me home!

I wanted to be prepared. I wanted to make sure I answered your questions before you could even ask them. What can I say...I want you to adopt me! ;)

-How can someone adopt me?
The first step is to fill out an adoption app for me at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
Once this app comes in, it will get sent on to my foster family and they will help me decide if we are a match or not.

*Where are you being fostered, would I pick you up? Can I adopt you even if I don't live in Oklahoma?
I am being fostered in Broken Arrow, OK. Yes, you would need to pick me up. This rescue does not send us on transports. It is less stress on us that way. Plus, you and I can already start bonding on the road trip home! ? Yes, I am okay moving to a new state

-Do I do well with strangers?
I am welcoming when meeting new people but also not overbearing.

-Do you enjoy going places?
Since I am not fully vaccinated yet, I have not been to any public outings so am unsure how I would do.

-Do you enjoy walks?
As I mentioned above, I am not fully vaccinated yet so my foster has not taken me on any walks yet. Given my age, I will probably need some working with on the leash still.

-Do you like road trips?
I have only been in the car a few times, but have done well the times I have been in one.

-Can I trust you to free-roam the house, even if I am away?
Are you ready for this? Because I can be given free-roam of the house, even if you are gone! I know that I am young, but my fosters have a doggie door and I tend to just follow the other dog's leads. I have not shown to be a big chewer, but my fosters house is puppy-proofed.

-Are you potty trained? What about kennel trained?
Yes, I am potty trained. Amazing right? I may be young but I am a very smart boy. My foster has not needed to kennel me so I am not kennel trained.

-Do you bark a lot?
I am still a puppy, so I don't know yet. All I can say is that so far I have not shown to be a big barker on my foster home.

-What do you like to do for fun?
I love playing fetch!! Not so much with balls but with ropes! When my foster's yard flooded with all the rain, I had a wonderful time playing in the puddles. So, it looks like I may be a water-loving dog! I am your typical puppy, in that I love all the toys!!!

-Would you do okay living in an apartment?
I believe so. Of course, my family would need to have a good exercise plan in place. Being left alone all day, or not really doing anything with me would not work out well for either of us.

-Are you good with dogs? What about cats? Can I trust you with my kids?
I am great with other dogs. I believe/know that everyone will love me! I am very playful with them, and love to be close to the other dogs. I am being fostered around cats and do well with them. I have been around kids 3-7 years of age with no issues. But I am a puppy and will still play-bite with those razor teeth. So, I probably would not be a good fit for toddlers.

-Is there anything else that I need to know about you? Any quirks?
I have shown no signs of food aggression however I have shown to be fearless in sticking my head in the big dogs bowls. So my foster's feed me separately right now. I have shown no signs of resource guarding but I am a puppy so think all the toys are mine. One growl from the big dogs and I back down. I am a puppy so sometimes I may jump on people. Other times, I sit sweetly. I do listen pretty well with down command.

-Can I hear what your foster has to say about you?
"Booth is a special puppy. I think whoever is lucky enough to get him will find themselves completely and utterly smitten. He is a heart dog. He is sweet and not demanding. When all the dogs run out the doggie door Booth is the first one to come back in and sit by me. He is a little bit of a talker and only barks when he is playing with the big dogs. Lastly, you know how some dogs will match the energy of the room? Booth doesn't. All the dogs can be barking and playing and if Booth doesn't want to, you will find him under my chair or on the couch. He is so confident for a puppy so young. We will cry when he leaves and probably wish we adopted him ourselves."

Now you know everything there is to know about me. I only have a few requests from you(my future family) and I have listed them below ;)

My ideal family would

*Have another playful dog. I love playing with the big dogs. I will play with my fosters but will often take a toy to the big dogs first to see if they will play.

*Be a family that doesn't kennel would be awesome. It is not necessary for me, and I would much rather just chill in the house with the other dogs.

*Be able to properly socialize me both inside and outside the home. Along with that, be able to commit to continue helping me be the best boy I can be and showing me right from wrong!

*Want a dog that is a good mix of cuddly and playful

Thank you for listening to my story and I hope you will consider adopting me. I hope to see you apply for me ?

*My adoption fee is $275. That includes two sets of puppy shots and wormings. I will also have had a bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
