Introducing Our very BlueBerry!

She is an adult blue min pin girl who had a bit of rough start in life, but is thriving in her very loving foster home. She is up to date on vaccines, has been spayed, and is heartworm negative. Here is a update about her from her foster mom.

"Blueberry... 'Blue' is a a fabulous little dog. She loves to run and play but is also great at being a lap dog. She gets along with all my other dogs. We have two cats. She leaves the older cat alone, because quite frankly she would lose that fight and knows it. The younger cat she chases, but only because the cat taunts her. Around the farm she is good. Stays out of the way of vehicles, knows now to stay away from the horses, hunts for mice, would ride around on my ATV all day if she could, but she does chases chickens! She is protective of me and has no fear of anything! She thinks she's a guard dog, despite her size! Her favorite place to sleep is under the covers at my feet! She is extremely loyal and loving. Would probably would not like being left all day. The pictures don't do justice to how cute she really is!"

Blue is being fostered in Crozet VA.

We are happy to consider applicants from out of state. However, if the applicant is approved, they must be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption donation of 300.00. This is a minimum donation and does not cover all expenses, as we are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum donation includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. This minimum donation does not even begin to cover the actual expenses each animal has while in rescue, but does go directly towards vet care for our rescue animals. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
