Bethany's Story
Bethany is a 4.5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a bright mind and an even brighter personality. True to her herding breed roots, she’s incredibly intelligent, active, and always ready for her next adventure. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or learning something new, Bethany thrives when she has both mental and physical stimulation.

She’s a gentle and affectionate girl who loves people and isn’t shy about making new friends—strangers included! Bethany gets along well with both small and large dogs and does well with older kids, making her a great addition to many families. She’s also a fantastic travel buddy who doesn’t mind car rides at all.

Bethany is both potty-trained and crate-trained, with good house manners—she doesn’t dig and generally knows how to behave indoors. That said, she prefers not to be left in her crate for long periods and would do best in a home where she can be part of the daily action. She’s currently working on her leash skills, as she can pull and gets distracted by things like bikes or skateboards, so continued training will help her shine even more.

She’s alert and will bark when someone is at the door—and sometimes more than necessary—so she may need guidance to manage her vocal tendencies. Bethany also has a more dominant personality and would benefit from a confident, experienced owner who can provide structure and consistency.

Because of her strong instincts, Bethany is not a good fit for a home with small animals.

If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic, and loving companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your days with fun, Bethany might just be your perfect match!

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out our application, and someone will be in touch with you shortly!
https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/
