Beth's Story

4 Years a Target, Now Searching for Peace: Meet Beth

For 4 of her about 5 years of her life, Beth has only known the four walls of a kennel. But worse than just that, she lived with dogs who constantly bullied her. Beth has spent most of her life just trying to make herself as small as possible just to avoid being hurt.

Because of this, Beth is scared. She has been out of that scary environment for a couple weeks and is slowly adjusting, but she needs stability. The world outside a kennel is completely foreign to her. In her safe foster home she is learning to trust and even plays with her foster brothers and sisters.

When she is frightened, she doesn't growl or snap; she simply retreats, trying to be invisible. All this beautiful girl wants, all she has ever wanted is peace. To know that she is safe. To know that any hand coming toward her is meant for gentle pets.

What Beth Needs:

If you have ever fostered or adopted a shut-down rescue, you already understand Beth. You know that love alone doesn't fix a broken past overnight.

1. Infinite Patience: A home where the expectations are zero, and the grace is endless. Someone who will celebrate the tiny victories the first time she asks for pets, the first time her beautiful coonhound tail gives a hesitant wag, the first time she realizes she is finally safe.

2. A Quiet Sanctuary: A calm, uncluttered, predictable environment where she can decompress at her own pace. A yard with a secure fence where she can wander and not escape. She will surely push the boundaries, literally.

3. The Gift of Time: Beth will recover, but it won't happen overnight, or in five days. or even 5 weeks.

Health & Logistics
Age/Breed: 5 years old, Redbone Coonhound / Terrier Mix

Heartworm Status: Heartworm NEGATIVE (Currently on 6-month ProHeart preventative)

Vaccines: Fully up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations

Temperament: Extremely gentle, non-aggressive, and currently very shy.

Beth has spent her whole life waiting in the shadows. Please, if you have a big heart, patience (not the "it's been 5 days and she's still not bonding with my dog" kind of patience), experience, and the infinite kindness required to show this girl what love actually feels like, reach out today.

IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION

If you're interested, please text Donya with information about yourself, your veterinarian for references, and your living situation. She will contact you directly. Donya (601) 590-0684

Rehoming fee and vet checks required.
