Meet Bennie

Date of birth: 9/2017
10/10/2019: Bennie is a darling little Terrier mix. He is 2 years old and weighs just 9 lbs. He was in bad shape when he came to us as a stray. The poor little guy was severely matted and filthy and had a skin infection. His coat had to be shaved, and his skin is healed up now.
Bennie was very scared when he arrived. We placed him in a foster home and he’s doing really well. It took several days for him to trust his foster parents, but now he's great with them! Bennie is playful and silly and loves to play with toys. He has a stuffed football that he carries around and buries under blankets! And he's a little love bug and loves to cuddle on the couch. Until he was settled in and comfortable with his foster parents, however, he did try to bite when he was scared or startled. His new person will need to be very patient and just give him time to trust at his own pace-- and then his true personality will come out! Bennie will need a home without kids.
Bennie lives with two other small dogs in his foster home and is good with them. He’s not great with the cat so a home without cats would be best. He is crate trained and working on house training.
He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. With patience and a little time, he’ll blossom into a fun and sweet little companion.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!
> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.
