Hello people of the universe:

Oh, don't be scared about the fact that I am 13 years old. I am spry and full of energy. After all, I do have that working dog part in me always wanting to go, go, go. Yup, I am quite a catch. But wait, even better - and you are going to love this - I don't BARK. Hard to believe, right? I'm not sure whether I cannot as I don't analyze things too much. Life is too short for that! Maybe I just don't have much to say. So, if you are wanting someone to bark at strangers then I am not the dog for you. But, if you like peace and quiet, then take me on.

I do fine with children, but feel ambivalent towards them. To tell you the truth, I just ignore them. In fact, the little two-legged humans I live with now make me a bit nervous, as they are so unpredictable - so I just avoid them. But fear not, I am not aggressive towards them. Nope, not me. I'm not a hater! That said I think it best that if I live with children that they are around 10 years or older. They finally start learning then from I have observed.

I love being with my humans, especially when we go to the dog park and I can play with my own kind. I also get to see lots of squirrels and dream of the chase. After all that excitement, there is nothing better than to go home and snuggle with the big two-leggeds. I will need to be lifted in and out of the car because it is getting hard to jump. The vet says that happens to older dogs - they can lose muscle mass in their rear ends. When I told him I was 13 he told me that age is just a number, which is reassuring.

I currently share a home with four-legged critter of a different sort...a cat! We don't interact a lot but we "co-exist". The cat does their thing and I do mine, and that works fine for both of us.

I would really like to have a house that is rather laid back, and I will need to have easy access to a fenced yard. Maybe with one of those "doggy doors" I've heard about? You know how it is when you get older, you don't always have as much warning about needing to use the "facilities" as you might like. A house with minimal or no stairs would be ideal too. I do need someone who is home more than they are gone too as I crave love and attention. Other than that, I am really rather perfect - according to me at least. I would love it if you would give me a chance.
