Perked ears and a perpetual smile make 8-year-old Beau the ultimate canine charmer. Surrendered to us due to a lifestyle change of his caring owner, the sweet 14-pound Schipperke or Corgi mix is happy and healthy. He was adopted in May of '19, but returned to us 10 months later due to some resource guarding issues, which will be an ongoing training opportunity for his new home. He warms up slowly to new people and surroundings, and he is very responsive to body language and eye contact. Beau truly loves his favorite volunteers and lives for his daily walks. He needs slow, deliberate movement and conversation when picking him up and holding his paws, brushing, etc. Gentle pets are the way to go with him and once you know him and vice versa, he will be a perfect fur-baby! Beau would thrive in an active one-dog home without children and with the right person who understands his quirks, as well as someone who understands the psychology behind resource guarding and dogs.
