Meet Beau
Beau has his own blog! Check out Beau's World on Facebook.
Beau is safe with cats.
He's wonderful with people - so sweet!
He's a tall, happy, young black boy. OSU surgically helped him as much as possible, but he has a painful front leg that requires daily medication and being messed with for many months appears to have given him a space issue where he'll snap at you if he's lying down and you bend over him. Therefore, Beau needs a strong leader and boundaries.
You will never believe it if you've met this friendly, affectionate marshmallow! Beau's lived in a home for 2 years, so while he’s still young, he has wonderful house manners. He loves to have people near, and gets along well with gentle/ submissive dogs. Beau is not cool with having another dog up in his face. Certain hounds are never comfortable with that, as that's intimidating to them. Sometimes he'll enjoy it, or just shy away out of discomfort, other times he'll lash out. Obviously he shouldn't live with kids, and having the right kind of hound around him would be beneficial for him. He overcame some separation anxiety with a calm foster dog and confident people. Beau does extremely well together with a calm, or shy dog in the house with him. He can't be with just any other dog because he can't be crated, or trusted loose and unattended with another dog. If the other dog was crated, that wouldn't be an issue. Beau is such a sweet boy, it's a shame he's so insecure. He's looking for someone who can love him despite his insecurities.
