Bear Cockapoo Mix Rochester, MN

Bear is a 27 lb, 7 year old male cockapoo. He is one of the happiest dogs there is! Bear recently had to have his eyes removed due to an infection that went untreated for too long. The fact that he can't see though doesn't really affect him. He has learned his way around the house, does great with stairs and uses his other senses to do all the normal doggie things. Sometimes his foster mom forgets that he can't see because he's just a normal dog.

Bear currently lives in a home with 4 young kids and 2 dogs. He is wonderful with everyone, although he ignores the resident dogs in the home. He is fully house trained and does well in his kennel when the family is gone (usually not more than 2-3 hours). At night he sleeps in bed with foster mom. He likes to snuggle under the covers.

We haven't had him on a leash much but he definitely doesn't pull. Since he can't see he's just not sure which direction to go. Bear is very smart and knows several commands (sit, stay, shake, down, beg, play dead). Although he's not a big barker he will bark when people come to the door. Then he's all tail wags and calms right down. Overall he's a pretty mellow dog who just likes to follow his people around the house.

Bear will need to be groomed every few months and his adoption fee is $300.
