Meet Barley

Barley is an 85 pound German shepherd lab mix. His favorite game in the whole world is playing fetch. If you give him a ball and take him outside, he will play for hours. He's really good at it too, he will bring the ball back and drop it right in front of you and sit to wait for you to throw it again.
If you let him have balls inside he will carry it with him everywhere he goes. That's how much he loves them!
He is kennel trained, however we let him have free roam in our house while we were gone for work and he never destroyed anything or had any accidents.
He is 100% potty trained.
Barley would be best with someone that has background on training dogs or knows how to train well, as I think his first few families formed some bad habits.
He knows "sit" and "down " and "move over" (he likes to take up the whole bed at night).
He would love lots of land to run on, but would need someone to entertain him as he needs to be around his people. While he is full of energy, he will occasionally cuddle on the couch with you. He thinks he's a lap dog so sometimes you'll need to remind him he's too big for that.
He needs work on leash training. One of the biggest things we worked on with him was this, as he is reactive to dogs when on a leash. If he isn't on a leash, he gets along fine with other pups.
He ignored our cat for the most part. He only ever barked at her when she instigated it first. Other times he cuddled up to her at home.
He is good with all people. He should probably be in a home with older kids only because he doesn't realize how big he is, and he doesn't pay attention to his surroundings and knocks people over a lot. So he may accidentally hurt a little kid. He's very sweet with our 3 month old and gives her kisses, so when he's aware she's there, he's gentle with her.
