Meet Barley
Barley here! I am still looking for my home. My last family was very sad to give me up but with all the children (lots) I was not very happy. I lived with my family until just before my sixth birthday and I was the only dog in the household. My mom told everyone I was a very sweet, very good boy.
Since coming to rescue I have been an excellent dog. I still prefer a quiet household in a quiet residential home (no apartments or condos) with a nice, fenced backyard for me to do my zoomies, hang out and sit in the sunshine. I would also like to be your only dog. It’s what I was used to.
I am leash trained, house trained, crate trained and love to snuggle. I like to give hugs and kisses if you let me. I can be very quiet. I do great in the car going for rides. I am a dog that will do best just hanging out at home. I will not do well off leash or in dog parks. I am a home body and couch potato.
Barley is a male Boxer, 6 years old, sweet, 60 lbs, loves people. He knows basic commands and will dance on his hind legs for treats. Barley did have a small skin mass removed and it was a mast cell tumor - common for boxers. He shows no signs of slowing down and is content and happy. Barley is still full of life!
Barley is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, heart-worm tested, had flea treatment, is dewormed and is microchipped. He has bloodwork and a mass removal and histopathology report to determine its cause. His adoption fee has been donated by someone who cannot adopt him but wishes him to have a perfect match for his home.
We will be accepting applications from the Portland area. If you are interested please fill out an application at https://www.mywayhomedogrescue.org
