Banks's Story

BIG AND FULL OF POTENTIAL — MEET BANKS!
Looking for a big, lovable companion with a heart of gold and a goofy side just waiting to shine? Meet Banks, a 3-year-old Giant Schnauzer/Poodle mix weighing around 50 pounds! This handsome boy is looking for a special family willing to show him the world and help him discover just how wonderful life can be!
When Banks first arrived at the shelter, we believe he may have spent much of his life outdoors in a barn-like environment. Because of that, there are still some things about the world that feel a little scary to him. But guess what?! This sweet boy has already made SO much progress!
Look at him go! Banks has been learning all about walking on a leash, and he's doing FANTASTIC! He walks very nicely, especially outdoors, and we're so proud of how far he's come. Some doorways and certain indoor flooring can still make him nervous. Sometimes he'll crouch down low, unsure of what to do, but with a little patience and encouragement, he gathers his courage and follows right along.
The way to Banks' heart? TREATS! This boy is very food-motivated, which makes us think training could be a whole lot of fun! He's eager to learn, and with a kind, patient family cheering him on, we believe he'll continue to blossom.
A clean kennel overnight? Check! Banks has been keeping his kennel clean at night, another wonderful thing to celebrate!
And then there's his silly side! Once Banks gets out into the yard and feels comfortable, his goofy, playful personality starts to shine! It's so rewarding to watch him relax, gain confidence, and let a little more of his true personality come out.
Banks may not be the most confident guy in every situation just yet, but he's trying his best, and that's what makes his progress so special. He doesn't need someone who expects him to know everything already. He needs someone who will give him time, celebrate his little victories, and remind him every day that he's safe and loved.
Could YOU be the person who helps Banks discover the joys of being a cherished family member? Imagine watching this sweet boy grow in confidence, learn new things, and finally settle into a home of his very own. He has so much potential, and we can't wait to see him thrive!
Ready to give Banks the forever home he's been waiting for?
Please fill out our dog adoption form here:
https://northwoodshumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-form/
Already approved to adopt? Give the shelter a call at 715-634-5394, Monday through Saturday, between 11 AM and 3 PM to schedule an appointment to meet him!
Banks is learning to trust the world, one step at a time. Maybe you could be the one to show him that the best part of life is having a family to call his own.
#AdoptBanks #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #ForeverHome #NorthwoodsHumaneSociety
