Bandit's Story

Bandit is a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd mix weighing 40 lbs, and he's ready to find an active family to call his own! He is fully vetted—neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention.

As a young herding dog, Bandit is smart, energetic, and eager to learn. He enjoys playing with other dogs and does great at the dog park, but he's just as happy keeping an eye on his people. He often seems more interested in what you're doing than what the other dogs are up to! He could do well as an only dog or with another playful pup.

Bandit is great with kids and has done well meeting new people and visiting pet-friendly stores. He can be startled by unexpected handling, such as sudden hugs, and may have an accident if frightened, but otherwise he's fully potty trained.

He settles nicely after getting his exercise and does well with twice-daily walks and indoor playtime. A small yard would be just fine as long as he gets regular walks and mental enrichment but a big yard would be his dream. He loves chew bones, Kongs, treat puzzles, and is even learning to play fetch!

Bandit is kennel-trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He also does well in his kennel when left home alone. Like many young dogs, he enjoys a little counter surfing if given the opportunity, so a watchful eye and continued training will help him succeed.

If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent companion who will happily join you on walks, adventures, and then relax by your side, Bandit could be the perfect fit.
Message us or apply to adopt Bandit if he seems like your perfect match! linktr.ee/zoisanimalrescue
