During her early months, she lived with a variety of fowl and goats. She then transitioned to being a companion/working dog overseeing horses, sheep and the property. A little over a year ago, Ava became a companion dog entirely.<br/><br/>Ava will thrive in any rural environment with people who understand and honour what she was born to do. She does not have to have livestock, but she does have to have a job, like overseeing the property. If her new home is companion/working, she will need people who can guide her through proper introductions and structured bonding with her new charges.<br/><br/>Ava is open and friendly with strangers. She has lived with dogs and cats and children. However, it has been over a year since she has been around cats, kids, and new dogs. Proper introductions and clear boundaries set by her new family will show Ava that the new beings are friends/family. She’s a quick learner. <br/><br/>Because Ava is just reaching maturity and will be going through another transition when she’s adopted, experienced people who understand that Guardians are independent, must trust to accept direction, and respond best to calm, patient leadership will ensure Ava transitions easily into her new home. It should also be noted that a home with an existing female companion dog will not be suitable for Ava.<br/><br/>If you are looking for a magnificent, intelligent, and deeply loyal Guardian to be a loving member of your family, she is ready to clock in for duty.<br/><br/>Ava has been spayed, microchipped, and her vaccinations are up to date.
