Augustus Beagle Mix Cincinnati, OH

Augustus is a precious beagle-mix puppy who recently arrived at STAF from a rural county shelter. He was found as a stray and we’re relieved he was never claimed. Sadly we think Augustus had a rough start in life and was not treated well by his first home. But in the short period of time he has been at STAF we have watched him consume all the good he has experienced since arriving and bloom into the goofy beagle puppy he was meant to be.

Augustus is between 5-6 months old and around 25 pounds. This boy has the CUTEST puppy eyes! Even though Augustus is still a puppy, he has the most adorable-irresistible-prematurely frosty face:)

Here is some great volunteer feedback on Augustus: “This little guy greeted me with kisses and wiggles. Augustus was friendly and playful with all the dogs we passed. He was hesitant when he saw people approaching on the path, but was friendly the instant they showed him any kindness - rubbing up to them then falling over, belly in the air for scratches. Augustus will thrive being with someone who has a soft touch and patience. He comes out of his shell very quickly with any little bit of kindness. I think he will bond quickly, he seemed very attached to me after our trip to the park, and anyone at the park who was friendly, he tried to follow:).”

Augustus is super snuggly and affectionate, and can’t get enough head or butt scratches from the STAF volunteers. We love how he always finds a way to make himself comfortable on any available lap. Like any puppy Augustus has plenty of energy and loves to play, especially with rope toys! We think this little guy is pretty darn special and look forward to helping him find the loving forever home he has always deserved.

Augustus’ estimated birth date is July 2018
Augustus will need: An active home to help him burn his puppy energy and positive based puppy training to help him learn the basics.
Augustus will love: A fenced yard to play in and a perhaps a puppy playmate or weekly trips to doggie daycare.

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.
