Meet Augie

Who out there is looking for a silly, mud-loving, snuggle bug?!

Augie was a surrender to our rescue. He was more active than his owners were expecting, and with some upcoming medical procedures, they did not feel that they could properly handle his energy. They wanted him to find a family that is better suited to his needs. So, we welcomed this handsome boy to our fluffy butt family! ♥

Augie is a 2-year-old, 70lb male Great Pyrenees mix.

Curious about what Augie's fosters have to say about him? Be sure to read on then!

"Augie is a very sweet and loving dog. He is high energy so I feel it would be best if he went to an active family. Another dog in the home would be good as he loves to play! He loves toys and his chew bones. He plays hard and sleeps hard. He enjoys playing in the water. He enjoys meeting new people but be careful, he will try to give you a hug! If told no, he will sit and love the petting and attention!"

Augie is a happy-go-lucky fella. All he wants to do is be with his people, play, and have the time of his life! He is so incredibly sweet and can be quite silly at times! If you are wanting a playful and loving dog, Augie needs to come home with you!

You can apply to adopt Augie using the link below. However, we highly recommend reading his ENTIRE bio to find out more info about him and see if his personality would be a good fit with your family first.

?? Augie's Questionnaire ??
-----------------------------------------

? How does your Augie act when meeting new people?*:
-He gets excited and might try to give you a hug.

?Has Augie been to any public settings?
-No

? Does Augie jump on people?
-Yes, he is a hugger but takes correction well. When you tell him no, he sits and enjoys the attention given to him.

?Is Augie a chewer?
-He does love to chew on his toys and bones but hasn't tried chewing on anything he shouldn't in his foster home. He is uninterested in playing fetch.

?Does Augie like water?
-Yes, he enjoys playing in the water.

?Does Augie have any food aggression or issues with trying to resource guard?
-Not that his fosters have noticed.

?Is Augie Potty and Kennel Trained?
-Yes

?Where does Augie stay when his fosters are away?
-Augie has free-roam of the house. He is also given free roam of the house at night and does well.

? Is Augie a big barker?
-He doesn't bark any more than any other dog. He will definitely let you know if there is something out of place.

?Would Augie do well in an apartment setting?
-Well, if your apartment is okay with a polar bear then possibly. He is very active so his new family needs to be prepared for that. He will need lots of walks, play dates with other dogs, and stimulation. He isn't a dog that will just lie around all day.

? Does Augie walk well on the leash?
-Well, he likes walks. However, he does pull a lot on the leash and often tries to walk into you. So, he definitely needs some working with.

?Does Augie like going on road trips?
-Augie is excited to go on an adventure. He jumps right in or rather hops right into the vehicle. However, when the car starts moving he second-guesses himself. I believe this is referred to as an "Oh, crap, what did I get myself into" moment. He gets a bit nervous and unsettled but eventually settles down.

?Does Augie do well with other dogs?
-Yes, he LOVES them. It is highly recommended that he have another playful dog in his new home.

?Does Augie do well with cats?
-We have the answer to a lot of questions, but we can't know all. Augie's foster does not have any cats so we are unsure how he would do with them. Given his energy level, he would probably try to play with them if they run.

?Does Augie do well with children?
-Augie is super sweet, but he is also rowdy. So, he would probably need older kiddos in his new home. We would worry that he would knock over the younger kiddos, or get a bit too rambunctious when they are around.

?? To Augie's Future Family ??

Augie would play all day long if he could. He loves to have fun, and if no one is around to play with him, will entertain himself. Augie would do best in a home that has another playful dog. A more active family would also be preferred for him.

Augie is being fostered in Purcell, OK. His new family needs to be able to pick him up(even if they are out of state). No commercial transports and no shipping. Just a fun road trip with him and his new family! ?

His adoption fee is $225. That includes DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordatella shots. He will be micro-chipped, heart-worm tested, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heart-worm and flea/tick prevention.
