VIP: Atlas is a friendly youngster who is about 9 months of age. He is housetrained and will sleep in a crate. He knows the command to sit, stop and stay (for treats) and really wants to please you. Atlas is an affectionate youngster who loves as many belly rubs as you will give him! He is not mouthy and is pretty mild mannered for a young pup. Atlas loves to romp and play in the yard at the shelter and stretch his legs. He seems curious about other dogs in a friendly "I want to get acquainted" way! Atlas most likely is going to be a large dog when grown and has the silkiest fur!<br/> <br/> Adopted animals are not able to go to their new home until spay and neuter surgery has been done. <br/>Adoptions are first come first serve, and no appointment or application is needed. Plano Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Adoptions are first come first serve. There is no application. Anyone over 18 years of age is eligible to adopt provided that they meet the adoption criteria for that specific animal. Criteria can range from having basic knowledge of the animal’s species or breed, having an established veterinary history, not having young children, the animal being legal to own in the city they live in, the breed they’re interested in being accepted at their apartments, etc. If a potential adopter doesn’t meet the criteria in place for that animal, they will be encouraged to look at other animals that may not have those restrictions in place. The criteria must also be met in order to visit with an animal.
