Athena's Story
This very pretty pup is about 7 months old, and her name is Athena. Her former owner said that she is part Cane Corso and part Presa Canario, so she will be a big girl when grown. Her situation at home was not ideal with a very small child, so she hasn't had much time to develop confidence, and to be taught with patience and love and consistency so that she learns all the things puppies should be learning. She is sweet and charming, still quite shy when meeting new people. Her previous owners admitted to treating her poorly and her life with them was mostly confined to a kennel, so this girl is still learning to trust people again. She likes doggy treats and has a gentle mouth when she takes the treats from you. She is getting better about walking on a leash; it seems like going out for walks was not on her playlist much. She is a large breed dog, so if you're thinking of adopting just remember that she will eat a lot, and should have good quality food so her bones and joints to continue to develop properly, and doing all that will add cost to your monthly budget. So please consider finances when planning to adopt any large breed dog. Want to meet her? Give us a call and we will set it up! 760-725-8120.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Call ahead to schedule a meet-and greet! Adoption Fee: $110.00.

The public is welcome to come adopt the patriotic pets at the Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter! Even if you don't have normal, regular access to the base, please DO give us a call and we will work with you to set up a meeting. 760-725-8120
